For a jazz musician, although the emphasis is to move on to new ground, it can be interesting to look back and analyse your recordings from the past. He is proud to have participated in these recordings which represent distinct moments in his life, often with fond memories. On some tracks he remembers being nervous as hell, on others he felt elated in a whirlwind of energy.

The first DEMO tapes and LIVE recordings were instrumental to his decision to give up his University studies in Swansea, and to pursue a career as a jazz musician in Paris.

There is often a tendancy for musicians to be very (over) self critical (and never be really happy!) With hindsight he is fairly satisfied with the groove (swing) on these tracks. His solos are «work in progress» and always will be!
